As I continue to feel the warmth of God’s blessing in my life, I am reminded, of a promise I made to my brother who went home to the Father a few years back. He, like many of us, had his demons that he fought. However, the Lord blessed him, with an ability to speak God’s words in scripture and make them come alive in his writing. My sister said that many people like myself would find his writings comforting. I promised my brother in prayer that I would try to continue his work and that his work by the Grace of God would become my work as well. However, while the spirit was willing the flesh was weak, I never started. Today I will keep that promise and begin.
Let me first say that I am a confessed sinner who struggles to live a life that would be pleasing in the eyes of the LORD, and I know I fail more than I would like to admit. The one certainty that I know is that Satan is working harder than ever to destroy GOD’s people. Many of us preach the good news but do we live it? As you will discover, I live out my faith in God from a Christocentric viewpoint. Understand, I am writing this blog not because I think I have it figured out. Quite the opposite, I am writing this blog so that we can figure it out together.
I believe that Satan is constantly fighting with believers to cause us to lose sight of our identity. However, God, is constantly pouring out His Grace and reminding us of who we are. I also believe that when those internal voices tell us that we are misunderstood by everyone, God reminds us that He understands us. I know that God loves us deeply and unconditionally. I believe we are not defined by who the world says that we are. We are defined by who Christ says that we are. Every true believer wants to hear from God. That is most especially true in the confusing circumstances of our life. When life is happening and we are at turning point, I believe God is always trying to get our attention.
